What is Treatment-Resistant Depression?
Treatment-resistant depression (TRD) is a major depressive disorder characterised by inadequate response - less than 50% symptom improvement - despite at least two adequately-dosed antidepressant trials from different pharmacological classes; each administered for a minimum of 8-12 weeks, excluding pseudoresistance from poor adherence or insufficient dosing (Rafe et al., 2025).
Syntonic offers both pharmacological and non-pharmacological, non-invasive treatment options for TRD: Intravenous Infusion Therapy and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).
